It started in July 2003 as a prototype and has been deployed since February 2004. It "has helped enable the capture of several high-priority Counter-terrorism targets." There are several major enhancements that TRAFFICTHIEF could also do in the future, and the TRAFFICTHIEF team is hard at work making them a reality.
